After a ton of troubleshooting.. I wasnapos;t able to fix my laptop. Googled the problem. Found the solution instantly. Apparently, my laptop model has a hardware issue which concerns either the wireless card, the motherboard or both...
Called up the technical support and woo hoo.. My system is eligible for a free repair. :)
The guy asked me what I did to try and fix the problem.. Which included:
o Recovery from the dedicated partition.
Result: Same result. No wireless =(
o Reinstalling the Broadcom drivers from the included application on my laptop. (Probably did this like 100 times)
Result: Nothing
o Upgrading the BIOS.
Result: Froze on when it was "Flashing the BIOS" .. Which scared the crap out of me because I didnapos;t know if I should leave it or not ... Because if you interrupt the BIOS update... You basically fuck up your computer in the worse way possible. And you have a lovely paperweight. Luckily, it didnapos;t even start. It froze right before it and my system was still in itapos;s wireless-handicapped state.
o Opening up part of the laptop and removing the WAN card and reinserting it.
Result: Same result. No wireless. Found out I have a great set of magnetic screwdrivers handy though.
After telling him all that, he asked me if I was a technician because I was the first person who called who actually went through all those steps. Haha. Apparently, he was going to ask me to do all those on the phone. XD Nope. Iapos;m just your average geeky girl~
Before he was explaining me on how to get to my BIOS and look up the version number.. Haha I felt bad but I just cut him off and told him. Yes, I know the BIOS version already..
So I get a box on Mon/Tues and ship off my laptop.. And when it comes back.. I finally have my laptop again.
